The Rosemount 625ND Infrared Combustible Gas Sensor provides accurate, low-maintenance detection of hydrocarbon gases using non-dispersive infrared technology. Designed for use with the Rosemount 925 Fixed Gas Detector, the Rosemount 625ND measures combustible gas concentrations from 0–100% LEL, helping industrial facilities monitor for flammable gas leaks before they become a greater safety risk.
Built for demanding process environments, the Rosemount 625ND supports the detection of common hydrocarbon gases such as methane, ethane, propane, ethylene, and butane. Its smart sensor design stores configuration, calibration, and gas-sensing data directly within the sensor module, allowing it to communicate digitally with the Rosemount 925 transmitter for stable readings, diagnostics, and simplified maintenance.

Description
Non-Dispersive Infrared Detection for Hydrocarbon Gases
The Rosemount 625ND uses non-dispersive infrared technology to monitor combustible hydrocarbon gases. It measures gas concentration from 0–100% LEL. As a result, this infrared combustible gas sensor supports reliable fixed gas detection in hazardous industrial areas. It detects gases such as methane, ethane, propane, ethylene, and n-butane. Therefore, facilities can use it across many hydrocarbon gas monitoring applications.
Smart Sensor Module Design
The Rosemount 625ND stores configuration, calibration, and gas-sensing data directly in the sensor module. This smart design simplifies sensor replacement and ongoing maintenance. When connected to the Rosemount 925 transmitter, the sensor communicates digitally with the transmitter. This helps deliver stable readings, real-time diagnostics, and clear fault notification.

It also provides alarm outputs, fault indication, and local display functionality. As a result, operators can view readings, alerts, and diagnostics directly at the transmitter. This makes routine checks and maintenance activities more practical in the field.
Built for Harsh Industrial Environments
The Rosemount 625ND performs in demanding industrial environments. It operates across a standard temperature range of -40 to +70 °C. It also supports 0–95% relative humidity, non-condensing. Additionally, the sensor offers aluminum and stainless steel housing options. When properly installed, it supports NEMA 4X and IP66 enclosure ratings.
Flexible Direct or Remote Mounting
The Rosemount 625ND can mount directly to the Rosemount 925 transmitter. Alternatively, facilities can mount it remotely using the Rosemount 905 Junction Box. Remote mounting allows teams to place the sensor closer to potential gas sources. Meanwhile, they can keep the transmitter accessible for viewing, configuration, and maintenance.
Hazardous Area and Safety Certification Options
The Rosemount 625ND supports hazardous industrial applications with global certification options. These include flameproof, dust, explosion-proof, and dust ignition-proof approvals. In addition, SIL2 functional safety certification is available for the Rosemount 925FGD system. Therefore, this infrared combustible gas sensor suits applications where reliable safety performance matters.
