Reliance Prismatic Water Gages, Flat Glass Water Gages & DuraStar® Illuminator (Clark-Reliance)

The Reliance Prismatic Water Gages, Flat Glass Water Gages & DuraStar® Illuminator (Clark-Reliance) lineup helps operators read boiler water level with clarity and confidence. These boiler water gages support local level indication across low, medium and higher-pressure boiler applications.

Reliance prismatic water gages use reflex glass to create a sharp black-and-white water level image. This design helps reduce reading errors and supports dependable visual indication. In addition, Reliance flat glass water gages provide strong construction, clear viewing and multiple pressure classes. For installations with poor lighting, the DuraStar® LED Illuminator improves visibility on Reliance flat glass gages.

Westech Industrial supplies Clark-Reliance boiler trim across Canada. Description

Clear Water Level Indication for Boiler Applications

Reliance boiler water gages help operators view the water level directly at the equipment. This local indication supports safe boiler operation and quick visual checks. Prismatic gages create a distinct image by using precision-cut reflex glass. In the steam space, the image appears white. In the water space, the image appears black. As a result, operators can identify the water line quickly.

Prismatic Gage Options for Lower-Pressure Boilers

Reliance prismatic water gages suit boiler design pressures up to 250 PSI with “C” Type models. “S” Type models suit boiler design pressures up to 350 PSI. These gages install in vertical assemblies or Tiltview™ assemblies. Therefore, they can support a range of boiler room layouts and viewing requirements. Multiple gage sections can also extend the viewing area on taller vessels.

Durable Glass and Reliable Clamping Design

Reliance prismatic gages use high-quality tempered borosilicate glass. This glass supports toughness in boiler applications. Additionally, the clamping design applies a uniform compressive load across the glass. This helps improve gasket sealing and supports longer service life. For applications with specific boiler water pressure and pH conditions, mica-protected flat glass gages may offer a better fit.

Flat Glass Water Gages for Higher Pressure Classes

Reliance FG Series flat glass water gages provide pressure class options to 450, 900, 1500 and 2000 PSI. These boiler water gages use wide-body construction for strength and rigidity. They also use tempered flat glass to resist thermal shock. In steam service, a mica shield protects the glass surface. For visibility, the 5/8 inch (15.9 mm) window slot gives operators a clear reading path.

Easy Maintenance and Flexible Viewing Lengths

FG Series gages use finger clamps to apply a uniform perpendicular load across the glass. This design supports gasket tightness and simplifies dismantling for cleaning or servicing. Depending on the installation, operators can choose single, double or multi-window configurations. For longer visible ranges, multiple-section gages can provide up to six sections.

DuraStar® LED Illumination for Enhanced Visibility

The DuraStar® LED Illuminator improves readability on Reliance flat glass gages. It uses three columns of directed amber LEDs to create a bright, star-like image at the water line. The illuminator attaches to new or existing Reliance flat glass gages without tools. Therefore, teams can upgrade visibility without changing the entire gage assembly.

Long-Life LED Performance

DuraStar LED illumination supports continuous or on-demand operation. The LEDs offer an estimated continuous life of 100,000 hours. They also generate no heat, which helps reduce maintenance concerns. Various models support ordinary locations, classified locations and ATEX applications. As a result, DuraStar can support many boiler rooms and industrial environments.

PRODUCT FAQ's

What are Reliance prismatic water gages used for?
Reliance prismatic water gages provide local boiler water level indication. They create a clear black-and-white image of the water level. This helps operators read the level quickly during routine boiler checks.
What is the difference between prismatic and flat glass water gages?
Prismatic gages use reflex glass to show water and steam in contrasting colours. Flat glass gages use transparent glass for direct viewing. Flat glass gages also support higher pressure classes. Reliance prismatic gages can be upgraded with LED illumination to improve visibility and contrast in low-light or harsh operating environments. For Reliance flat glass gages, the DuraStar® LED Illuminator provides high-contrast amber LED lighting and can attach to new or existing gages without tools.
When should I consider DuraStar® illumination?
Consider DuraStar illumination when operators need clearer visibility. It helps in poor lighting, longer sightlines and critical level reading applications. It also supports continuous or on-demand operation.
Can Westech help select the right boiler water gages?
Yes. Westech can help review boiler pressure, viewing length, valve centers, area classification and lighting needs. Our team can also help match gages with suitable Clark-Reliance valves and boiler trim.
Does Westech support custom boiler-related projects?
Yes. Westech supports boiler projects through service capabilities, integration experience and custom fabrication. Our team can help with broader assemblies, panels, winterization, shelters and project-specific support.
Can these gages replace an existing tubular glass gage?
Yes, Reliance prismatic gages can replace existing tubular glass gages in many applications. An offset assembly can help maintain the required visible range. Westech can help review valve centers and configuration requirements.
Are DuraStar models available for hazardous locations?
Yes. DuraStar models are available for ordinary locations, classified locations and ATEX applications. Westech can help confirm the right model for the site requirements.
