Reliance Levalarms® Low Water Cut-Out and Level Switch (Clark-Reliance)

Reliance Levalarms® Low Water Cut-Out and Level Switch products from Clark-Reliance help protect boilers, tanks, and water-based process applications. These high/low water alarm switches and fuel cut-outs provide dependable level switching for low water cut-out, level alarm, pump control, and process protection applications.

The Levalarm level switch family includes float-type, probe-type, and retrofit options. As a result, facilities can match the switch design to the boiler, tank, water column, pressure rating, wiring approach, and maintenance requirements. The newer REA100F-1000 float level switch provides a compact option for demanding boiler applications. It uses a dual-magnet design with positive interlocking action, which helps maintain stable switching despite heat, vibration, or loss of electrical power.

For probe-based applications, the Series REA101 responds to water level changes at preset points. Each unit monitors up to 3 inches of level variation, while multiple units can extend the monitoring range. Retropak assemblies also help facilities upgrade older EA100 float-design units to probe operation without modifying boiler piping.

Westech Industrial supplies Reliance Levalarms® across Canada and helps customers select the correct Levalarm level switch configuration. Our team can support float, probe, and retrofit selections, along with relay controls, alarm accessories, certifications, and application requirements. Westech also supports broader boiler, tank, and process projects through our service capabilities and custom fabrication capabilities, including integrated solutions that may involve panels, enclosures, analyzer shelters, or site-specific assemblies.

Description

Reliable Levalarm Level Switch Protection

The Reliance Levalarms® family supports critical level switching on boilers, tanks, and water-based applications. A Levalarms level switch can help trigger high or low alarms, fuel cut-out functions, and pump controls. Therefore, it plays an important role in protecting equipment and supporting safer operation.

The product family includes float-type switches, probe-type switches, and retrofit assemblies. This gives operators more flexibility when they need to match existing piping, site standards, or maintenance preferences. In addition, Westech Industrial can help review the application and narrow the selection to the correct switch style.

REA100F-1000 Float Level Switch for Demanding Boiler Applications

The REA100F-1000 float level switch supports pressures up to 1000 psi. It uses a stainless-steel float and a dual-magnet design with positive interlocking action. As the water level rises or falls, the float moves the internal magnet system. That movement drives a secondary magnet in the switch housing and mechanically activates the switch.

This design helps the Levalarms level switch resist vibration. It also helps compensate for minor installation misalignment. As a result, the switch can deliver stable operation in boiler applications where heat, vibration, and installation realities can challenge traditional switching designs.

The REA100F-1000 also uses a drop-in design that requires no commissioning adjustments. This helps simplify installation and reduces start-up complexity. The compact float model also suits indoor or outdoor boiler applications.

Probe-Type Switching for Fast Response

Series REA101 probe-type level switches respond to the rise and fall of water at preset points. They suit boilers and tanks, and they commonly support power plant and processing facility applications. Each Levalarms monitors up to 3 inches of level variation. However, teams can install multiple units in series when they need a wider monitoring range.

For probe-style installations, Reliance relay control modules can support standard direct mode or optional inverse mode operation. In direct mode, rising water completes the probe circuit and changes the relay state. In inverse mode, the relay remains in “safe” mode for low-level applications until the probe condition changes.

Retrofit Options for Legacy EA100 Installations

Retropak assemblies offer a practical upgrade path for older EA100D, EA100S, and EA100SW float-design installations. The retrofit approach converts legacy float-style units to probe operation. It also eliminates the float mechanism, which can reduce maintenance needs.

The assembly installs by replacing the old float internals with a new access cover plate and probe. Because the retrofit does not require boiler piping modification, facilities can modernize the level switch while preserving existing piping arrangements.

Relay Controls and Alarm Accessories

Relay control modules support probe-type Levalarms installations. Each relay module has independent fuse protection. In addition, plug-in relay modules can be removed by hand without tools. These relays supply low voltage to the probes and can improve sensitivity in extremely low water conductivity applications.

Relay controls also include integral red LED indicators to verify status. For low-load applications, such as computer interfaces or recorders, the relays can improve switch contact reliability.

Additional options include low water fuel cut-out probe bypass switches, audible alarms, and visual alarms. These accessories help facilities build a complete level alarm or cut-out system around the selected Levalarm level switch.

PRODUCT FAQ's

What does a Reliance Levalarm level switch do?
A Reliance Levalarm level switch monitors water level in boilers, tanks, and related water applications. It can support high or low alarms, low water cut-out functions, fuel cut-out actions, and pump controls.
What is the difference between a float-type and probe-type Levalarm?
A float-type Levalarm uses float movement to actuate a switch. The REA100F-1000 uses a dual-magnet design with positive interlocking action. A probe-type Levalarm uses probe contact with water at preset points to actuate controls. Westech can help you compare float, probe, and retrofit options for your site.
Why consider the REA100F-1000 float level switch?
The REA100F-1000 handles pressures up to 1000 psi. It also resists vibration and supports stable switching through its dual-magnet design. In addition, its drop-in design helps reduce commissioning adjustments.
Can Levalarms support Canadian boiler applications?
Yes. Westech Industrial supplies Reliance Levalarms® across Canada. The REA100F-1000 carries CRN 0H16066 ratings for all provinces. For probe-type installations in Canada, confirm the correct REL model with Westech before ordering.
Can I retrofit an older EA100 float-design installation?
Yes. Retropak assemblies convert older EA100D, EA100S, and EA100SW float-design units to probe operation. The retrofit approach helps reduce maintenance linked to float mechanisms and installs without boiler piping modification.
Does Westech support more than product supply?
Yes. Westech Industrial can support product selection, configuration, service requirements, and integrated project needs. Our custom fabrication capabilities also help customers build practical solutions around boiler, tank, and process instrumentation applications.
Can Westech help with relay controls and accessories?
Yes. Westech can help specify relay controls, holding switch bypass options, audible alarms, and visual alarms for Reliance Levalarms®. This support helps ensure the selected Levalarm level switch matches the control function and site requirements.
Is this product available Canada wide?
Yes. Reliance Levalarms® are available Canada Wide through Westech Industrial.
