PRATT – TE Series Triple Offset Butterfly Valves
PRATT TE Series Triple Offset Butterfly Valves provide reliable isolation and modulating control for demanding industrial fluid systems. This triple offset butterfly valve gives facilities a compact alternative to traditional gate and ball valves. It also helps reduce weight, save space, and support automated operation.
The TE Series uses a metal-to-metal seating design with graphite-laminated sealing surfaces. Its triple offset geometry helps reduce seat contact through the valve stroke. As a result, the valve can lower operating torque, reduce seat wear, and improve performance in modulating applications.
PRATT designed the TE Series to meet API 609 and ASME B16.34 specifications. The valve also supports bidirectional flow and seat leak testing to API 598. In addition, the design supports block, isolation, and process modulation duties across harsh industrial environments.
Westech Industrial supplies PRATT TE Series Triple Offset Butterfly Valves Canada wide. Westech can also support valve selection, service requirements, automation needs, and custom fabrication projects. For larger systems, our team can help integrate valves into skids, panels, analyzer shelters, and other fabricated process solutions.

Description
Triple Offset Design for Reduced Friction
The PRATT TE Series triple offset butterfly valve uses three engineered offsets to improve sealing performance. The first offset moves the shaft centerline away from the seating plane. The second offset moves the shaft away from the valve bore centerline. Then, the third offset adjusts the cone angle to create a torque-seated design.
This geometry helps the disc move away from the seat with less rubbing. Therefore, the valve can reduce premature seat wear compared with designs that rely on higher seat contact. It also helps lower breakout, seating, and running torque. That can support better actuator sizing and improve performance during frequent operation.
Metal Seating with Graphite Lamination
The TE Series uses a metal-to-metal seating design. The metallic disc seat includes graphite lamination, which supports sealing performance in demanding service. The standard disc seat uses 316 stainless steel with graphite. Other seat designs can also suit specific applications upon request.
This construction makes the valve a strong fit for processes that need dependable shutoff. It also supports higher-temperature service compared with many soft-seated designs. With a temperature range from -50°F to 750°F, the TE Series can handle a wide range of industrial process conditions.
Anti-Blow-Out Stem and Seat Retention
PRATT builds the TE Series with an anti-blow-out stem design. A retainer ring helps restrict shaft movement if body leakage occurs. This design aligns with API 609 and relevant piping code requirements.
The valve also uses a seat retainer system that helps minimize seat movement. The retainer holds the seat in the pocket and helps reduce blow-out risk. In lug or double-flange configurations, the valve can suit dead-end service with the shaft downstream.
Low Emission Packing Options
The TE Series includes graphite packing as standard. Low-emission packing supports industry requirements down to 100 ppm. In addition, alternate packing configurations can match specific site needs. These options include live-loaded packing, fugitive-emissions-qualified packing, and lubricator designs.
This flexibility helps facilities align the valve package with their operating, maintenance, and environmental goals.
Automation-Ready Mounting
The PRATT TE Series triple offset butterfly valve supports manual, pneumatic, and electric operation. The bonnet flange uses an ISO 5211 mounting pattern. This helps simplify actuator mounting and supports standard bracket designs.
Because the valve can modulate process flow, it can support control duties for level, flow, temperature, and pressure. Westech can help match the valve with suitable operators and service support for your application.
