Continuous Level Measurement You Can Trust

The JMT™ series magnetostrictive transmitter provides continuous level measurement for critical process applications. Its sensing technology uses a float that follows the liquid level. Then, onboard electronics send a low-power pulse down the sensing wire. When the float’s magnetic field intersects the wire, it creates a return pulse. The transmitter measures this time of flight and determines the float position.

This method helps deliver accurate level readings without requiring constant mechanical adjustment. Therefore, teams can use the JMT™ in applications where reliable level feedback matters.

Strong Signal Performance in Challenging Conditions

Jerguson’s signal capture technology helps the transmitter maintain a strong signal-to-noise ratio. This supports dependable readings in environments that may include vibration or electrical noise. As a result, operators can rely on the JMT™ for demanding industrial level measurement.

When the transmitter mounts externally to a Jerguson Magnicator® magnetic level gage, it works with the gage’s magnetic arrangement. This allows mounting on many chamber combinations, including Schedule 160 chambers. Consequently, plants can add continuous level output to robust level gage installations.

One-Touch Waveform Graphical Display

The JMT™ includes a one-touch waveform graphical display for fast field access. Operators can view the full waveform, trigger level, peak count, and live signal condition. They can also quickly review current parameters, range, upper range value, lower range value, serial number, and tag number.

This display helps improve commissioning and maintenance workflows. It also gives technicians a clearer view of signal condition during setup or troubleshooting.

HART Communication and Device Integration

The JMT™ supports HART communication, including HART 7 compatibility. This helps teams connect the transmitter to control systems and asset management platforms. In addition, the JMT™ supports iDTM integration for use with PACTware® and other FDT-compliant systems.

This improves configuration, diagnostics, and device management. Therefore, teams can streamline setup and make parameter adjustments more efficiently.

Flexible Mounting and Level Options

The JMT™ magnetostrictive transmitter supports direct insertion into storage vessels or external mounting to magnetic level gages. It also supports single level and dual level measurement. Dual float functionality allows teams to measure total level and interface level with one device.

This flexibility makes the JMT suitable for tank farms, process vessels, refining, petrochemical, chemical, power, and oil and gas applications.

Durable Enclosure for Industrial Sites

The JMT™ uses a dual compartment NEMA 4X and IP66 enclosure. The standard enclosure uses epoxy-coated aluminum, while 316 stainless steel remains available as an option. The dual-entry design gives operators access to the HMI from the front and power connections from the rear.

The transmitter also carries hazardous area approvals for USA, Canada, ATEX, and IECEx applications. Therefore, it can support level measurement in classified industrial environments.
