Crevice-Free One-Piece Construction

Each Uni-San Hygienic Sight Window uses a one-piece design with a smooth, crevice-free transition. This construction reduces areas where process material could collect. It also supports thorough cleaning in hygienic processing environments.

Jacoby-Tarbox uses proven and traceable materials throughout the design. Consequently, these hygienic sight windows suit regulated and quality-controlled processes requiring reliable material documentation.

Clear Process Viewing

Type 1 borosilicate glass gives operators a direct view into tanks, vessels, and process lines. Teams can observe product movement, liquid condition, cleaning progress, or other visible process changes. Therefore, the window helps confirm process performance without opening the equipment.

Flexible Hygienic Clamp Installation

The Uni-San design clamps to a compatible hygienic ferrule on a tank or process line. Users can convert that ferrule into a viewing window or light port.

Hygienic clamp dimensions follow ASME BPE requirements. Published Uni-San sizes range from 1/2-inch and 3/4-inch connections through 12-inch connections. This broad selection supports both compact piping and larger process vessels.

Smooth Wetted Surface

The standard wetted surface features a 10 µin Ra mechanical finish, equal to 0.25 µm Ra. This smooth finish supports effective cleaning and hygienic process requirements.

Jacoby-Tarbox also offers an electropolished finish. The electropolished option provides another surface choice for applications with specific cleanliness or finishing requirements. Meanwhile, the one-piece transition limits interruptions along the process-facing surface.

Borosilicate Glass and Metal Options

Standard models combine Type 1 borosilicate glass with a Duplex 2205 stainless steel wetted ring. Jacoby-Tarbox also offers a Hastelloy® C22 ring for applications requiring an alternative wetted metal.

Size-Dependent Pressure and Temperature Ratings

Maximum pressure depends on the selected connection size. Published ratings range from 85 to 360 psig across the Uni-San size range.

Duplex configurations support temperatures from -22°F to 536°F, or -30°C to 280°C. Hastelloy configurations extend from -76°F to 572°F, or -60°C to 300°C. Therefore, users should confirm every operating limit during product selection.

Support for Cleaning and Production

Uni-San hygienic sight windows support CIP and SIP process requirements. Their smooth transition can help shorten cleaning cycles and reduce product loss.

When necessary, operators can mechanically clean the window and return it to service. Direct viewing also helps teams validate cleaning performance and observe process conditions.

Optional Process Illumination

An optional LED illuminator can create a combined viewing and lighting point. This accessory improves visibility inside tanks, vessels, and enclosed process equipment.

The illuminator can also support inspections where ambient light cannot reach the process area. Users can install a light on one port and view the illuminated process through another.
