Blackline Safety G7 EXO iArea Monitor
The Blackline Safety G7 EXO iArea Monitor is a cloud-connected area gas monitor designed to continuously measure gas concentrations in the ambient environment at sites, facilities and fence lines. When toxic or combustible gas concentrations exceed configured setpoints, EXO activates notifications to help teams respond to changing site conditions. In the event of a safety incident or gas exposure, monitoring personnel can see what has happened and communicate through EXO using text messaging or optional two-way voice calling.
Designed for drop-and-go deployment, G7 EXO connects directly to Blackline Live and the Blackline Safety Cloud, helping reduce the complexity often associated with traditional area monitoring networks. Built-in cellular connectivity allows EXO to connect without Wi-Fi, radio links or mesh network configuration, while the optional Iridium satellite module supports connectivity in remote areas outside cellular coverage.
G7 EXO is available in EXO Diffusion and EXO Pump models. EXO Diffusion is designed to monitor and measure ambient gas concentrations, while EXO Pump can remotely sample up to four confined spaces or locations using pump inlets, internal pumps and external tubing. EXO uses multi-gas cartridges that can be configured to detect up to four gases, or up to five gases when using a dual CO and H2S sensor.
Built for extended area monitoring, G7 EXO offers long battery life, a rugged housing, a large full-colour display, visible warning and alert lights, and configurable external signal ports designed to integrate with external alarms and electrical systems. The IS trickle charge port can also be used with an intrinsically safe power supply configuration to support long-term operation in the field.
Available through Westech Industrial in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, the Blackline Safety G7 EXO iArea Monitor can be supported as part of broader area gas detection, connected safety and site monitoring programs. Westech can assist with product selection, service support, and custom fabrication requirements where area monitoring needs to integrate with alarms, electrical systems, control panels or site-specific safety infrastructure.

Description
Cloud-Connected Area Gas Monitoring
The G7 EXO area monitor continuously measures ambient gas concentrations at sites, facilities, and fence lines. When toxic or combustible gas levels exceed configured setpoints, EXO activates notifications. As a result, monitoring personnel can view device activity and respond according to site safety protocols. Through Blackline Live, teams gain visibility into gas events, device status, and connected monitoring activity.
Drop-and-Go Deployment
G7 EXO helps simplify area monitoring deployment. Once powered on, the monitor can connect and begin streaming environmental data. Therefore, teams can reduce setup time during temporary projects, turnarounds, and longer-term monitoring programs. Because EXO connects directly to the cloud, it does not require Wi-Fi, radio links, or mesh network configuration.
EXO Diffusion and EXO Pump Options
G7 EXO is available in two models to support different monitoring needs. EXO Diffusion monitors ambient gas concentrations in the surrounding environment. Meanwhile, EXO Pump supports remote sampling from up to four confined spaces or locations. It uses internal pumps and external tubing to draw samples from selected points.
Configurable Multi-Gas Detection
EXO uses configurable multi-gas cartridges for flexible gas detection. Cartridges can detect up to four gases. However, they can detect up to five gases when using a dual CO and H2S sensor. Depending on the configuration, sensor options include toxic gas, oxygen, combustible LEL, and PID detection.
Long Battery Life for Extended Monitoring
G7 EXO supports long-term monitoring with extended battery performance. In diffusion mode, the battery can last up to 100 days at 20°C. This rating applies with an LEL-IR, H2S, CO, and O2 configuration. In pump mode, G7 EXO has a battery life of up to 30 days at 20°C.
Cellular Connectivity with Optional Satellite
G7 EXO includes a built-in cellular connection module for cloud connectivity. Additionally, teams can add an optional Iridium satellite module. This option helps support monitoring in remote areas where cellular coverage is unavailable. Therefore, EXO can serve both facility-based and remote monitoring applications.
Visible and Audible Notifications
G7 EXO uses lights, sound, and on-screen messages to communicate device status. It includes visible yellow and red lights for warnings and high urgency alerts. It also includes a green connectivity light and a blue LiveResponse indicator light. The blue light confirms when a monitoring team has acknowledged an alert.
Blackline Live Configuration and Reporting
Blackline Live allows teams to monitor EXO activity and access reports. It also allows teams to create configuration profiles. These profiles determine how an EXO device, or group of EXO devices, operates in the field. Additionally, Blackline Analytics can provide reporting and fleet data review, depending on the service plan.
External Alarm and Electrical System Integration
G7 EXO includes intrinsically safe, configurable external signal ports. These ports are designed to integrate with external alarms and electrical systems. As a result, teams can connect area monitoring with additional site safety infrastructure.
Location Technology
G7 EXO includes location technology using GPS/QZSS, Galileo, and Beidou. It also supports beacon location technology. A defined location can help emergency response teams identify where to respond. However, EXO does not need a determined location to function as a safety monitor or gas detector.
Rugged Construction for Industrial Environments
G7 EXO uses rugged housing made from aluminum, plastic, and rubberized bumpers. It is designed to meet IP65 ingress protection. It also operates from -20°C to 50°C, supporting use in demanding industrial environments.
Applications
The Blackline Safety G7 EXO iArea Monitor is suited for industrial sites that require area gas detection, connected monitoring and flexible deployment. It can support both short-term project work and longer-term monitoring programs where teams need visibility into changing gas conditions across a defined area.
Common applications include:
- Site and facility area gas monitoring
- Fence line monitoring
- Temporary project and turnaround monitoring
- Remote area monitoring with optional satellite connectivity
- Ambient gas monitoring with EXO Diffusion
- Confined space or remote point sampling with EXO Pump
- Long-term monitoring using battery power or IS trickle charge configurations
- Integration with external alarms, electrical systems or control infrastructure
- Safety monitoring programs that require Blackline Live visibility and reporting
