Federal Signal 300GCX SelecTone® Hazardous Location Amplified Speaker
The Federal Signal 300GCX SelecTone® Hazardous Location Amplified Speaker produces tones, digital voice messages and live public address in harsh industrial environments. This 15 W 300GCX amplified speaker helps facilities communicate emergency warnings, evacuation notices, start or dismissal signals, process control alerts and general public address messages.
The 300GCX amplified speaker works as an individual signaling device or as part of a plant-wide emergency notification system. For stand-alone use, facilities can pair it with a UTM Universal Tone Module or TM33-SD Custom Tone Module. For plant-wide signaling, a connector kit links each speaker to a central controller, SelecTone Command Unit or CommCenter® Digital Message Center.
Westech Industrial offers the Federal Signal 300GCX Canada-wide. Our team can support product selection, service requirements, project coordination and custom fabrication needs for industrial sites. This includes integration support for panels, shelters, buildings and packaged systems where audible notification forms part of a larger safety or process solution.

Description
Clear Audible Signaling in Harsh Industrial Areas
The Federal Signal 300GCX amplified speaker helps facilities deliver clear audible communication in high-noise environments. It produces tones, digital voice messages and live public address, giving operators flexible notification options. As a result, teams can use one speaker model for multiple plant communication needs.
15 W Amplified Speaker Performance
The 300GCX amplified speaker uses digital signal amplification and reliable solid-state circuitry. It also includes fused input and output protection. Together, these design features support dependable operation in demanding industrial applications. The 300GCX provides 110 dBA at 10 ft and 120 dBA at 1 m when operating at 24 Vdc, 120 Vac or 240 Vac. When operating at 24 Vac, it provides 100 dBA at 10 ft and 110 dBA at 1 m.
Built-In Gain Control
The built-in gain control lets teams adjust the speaker output for the surrounding area. This helps prevent over-signaling in smaller spaces while still supporting loud notification where ambient noise levels run high. Because every facility has different acoustic conditions, adjustable output helps improve practical field performance.
Stand-Alone or Plant-Wide Use
Facilities can use the Federal Signal 300GCX as a stand-alone audible signal. They can also connect it into a larger emergency notification system. For stand-alone tone generation, the speaker works with the UTM Universal Tone Module or TM33-SD Custom Tone Module. The UTM module provides 32 tones, while the TM33-SD supports custom tone needs. For broader plant-wide signaling, connector kits allow the speaker to connect with a central controller, SelecTone Command Unit or CommCenter Digital Message Center.
Rugged Aluminum Construction
Federal Signal builds the 300GCX amplified speaker for tough industrial conditions. The speaker cone and projector use spun aluminum. The diecast aluminum housing contains the amplification circuitry, tone module and gain control. In addition, powder-coat paint seals all surfaces, while dust- and moisture-proof gaskets help protect the unit from the elements.
Indoor and Outdoor Protection
The 300GCX amplified speaker supports indoor and outdoor use. It carries a Type 4X, IP66 enclosure rating and IP69K compliance. This makes it a strong fit for industrial locations where dust, moisture and washdown exposure may affect equipment performance.
Hazardous Location Approvals
The Federal Signal 300GCX supports hazardous location applications. It carries UL and cUL listings for Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C and D; Class II, Division 2, Groups F and G; and Class III. It also carries CSFM approval. Therefore, the speaker suits many industrial areas where flammable gases, vapours, liquids or combustible dusts may appear only under abnormal conditions.
Applications
The Federal Signal 300GCX amplified speaker supports audible communication in harsh industrial areas where clear signaling is critical. Facilities can use it for localized alerts or connect multiple speakers into a broader plant-wide notification system. Because it supports tones, digital voice messages and live public address, the 300GCX fits safety, operations and process communication needs.
Common applications include:
- Emergency warning systems
- Evacuation notification
- Start and dismissal signaling
- Live public address
- Digital voice messaging
- Process control signaling
- Plant-wide audible notification
- Industrial safety systems
- Outdoor hazardous location areas
- High ambient noise environments
