The UE ONE Series Electronic Switch and Transmitter combines the functionality of a pressure or temperature switch, transmitter, and local display into a single compact device. Designed for industrial process applications requiring high reliability and operational flexibility, the ONE Series helps simplify installation, reduce leak paths, minimize maintenance requirements, and improve overall system performance.
Traditional installations often require separate switches, transmitters, gauges, and associated wiring. The ONE Series consolidates these functions into one intelligent instrument, helping reduce installation complexity, lower lifecycle costs, and improve process visibility.
Available in pressure, differential pressure, and temperature configurations, the ONE Series provides programmable switching, local indication, HART® communication capability, and advanced diagnostics in a rugged explosion-proof enclosure suitable for hazardous locations.
One of the key differentiators of the ONE Series is its patented IAW® (I Am Working) self-diagnostics technology, which continuously monitors device health and helps identify faults before they become process issues. The device can also detect plugged impulse lines and blocked pressure ports that could otherwise create inaccurate “live zero” readings during operation or maintenance.
The ONE Series is well-suited for facilities looking to modernize aging mechanical instrumentation while improving safety, reliability, and digital integration capabilities.
Westech Industrial provides product support, application guidance, commissioning assistance, and servicing for UE products across Canada. Our team can also assist with custom-fabricated instrumentation assemblies, control panels, and integrated process solutions where pressure and temperature monitoring devices are required.

Description
UE One Series Electronic Switch and Transmitter Functions
The UE One Series Electronic Switch and Transmitter provides several device configurations within one product platform. The 1XSW models deliver electronic switching for low-voltage, high-voltage and direct-load applications. The 1XTX00 model provides a loop-powered 4–20 mA HART® transmitter without switching outputs.
For applications requiring both control and transmission, the 1XTXSW model combines several functions. It provides two independently switched outputs, a 4–20 mA signal, HART® communication and a local display. Therefore, users can reduce the number of separate field devices.
This arrangement can simplify wiring and installation. It can also replace combinations of mechanical switches, gauges and transmitters. However, the correct model depends on the control system and electrical load.
IAW® Diagnostics and Plugged Port Detection
Patented IAW® (I Am Working) technology continuously monitors device status. When the system detects a fault, the display provides a corresponding fault code. The set point switch then moves to its programmed tripped state.
At the same time, the normally closed IAW® output opens. On transmitter models, the analog signal drops to 3.6 mA or less. This response follows NAMUR NE 43 fault indication practices.
Plugged port detection provides another layer of process awareness. It can identify blocked pressure ports and closed isolation valves. Consequently, operators can investigate conditions that might otherwise create a false live-zero reading.
These diagnostic functions help teams identify instrumentation concerns before they affect a shutdown or monitoring system.
Programmable Switching and Process Control
The UE ONE Series gives users full control over set points and deadband settings. Users can program these values across the device’s adjustable range.
Available switch modes include open on rise, open on fall, close on rise and close on fall. The system also supports open and close out-of-window control modes. These window modes allow users to monitor both high and low process limits.
A programmable trip delay ranges from zero to 999.9 seconds. Users can adjust it in 0.1-second increments. Additionally, transient filters can reduce nuisance trips caused by brief process fluctuations.
Programmable transient filtering helps reduce nuisance trips caused by brief process fluctuations. Pressure models default to OFF, while temperature models default to a 0.5-second filter. Available programmable time constants include 0.25, 0.5, one and two seconds, although available settings vary by measurement model. With filtering and trip delay turned off, switch response time reaches 100 milliseconds or less.
Non-volatile FRAM protects programming and stored data. As a result, the UE One Series Electronic Switch and Transmitter retains its settings without relying on volatile memory.
Pressure, Differential Pressure and Temperature Models
Gauge pressure models cover adjustable ranges from compound vacuum to 6,000 psig. Their 316L stainless steel wetted components include a welded diaphragm and a female 1/2-inch NPT process connection.
Differential pressure models cover ranges up to 200 psid. They use 316L stainless steel wetted components and two male 1/4-inch NPT process connections.
Temperature models support cryogenic, standard and high-temperature applications. Available adjustable ranges extend from -300°F to 1,000°F, depending on the selected sensor.
Users can choose local, remote or spring-loaded temperature sensors. Remote sensor extensions can reach 60 feet on selected configurations. The TTC spring-loaded sensor supports thermowell installations.
HART® Communication and Local Display
The 1XTX models provide a 4–20 mA output with HART® version 7 compatibility. They also follow NAMUR NE 43 requirements for analog fault indication. Users can scale the analog output with a 4:1 turndown.
HART® communication supports remote configuration and diagnostics through compatible PLC and DCS platforms. Meanwhile, the local display gives technicians immediate access to operating information.
The four-digit LCD displays the process variable, measurement units, set points and deadband values. It can also show switch status, IAW® status, trip counts, fault codes and minimum or maximum process readings.
The display updates 2.5 times each second. Transmitter models also include display backlighting.
Hazardous Location Protection and Rugged Construction
The epoxy-coated aluminum enclosure carries Type 4X and IP66 ratings. A tempered glass window protects the local display while maintaining visibility.
The enclosure also includes two 3/4-inch NPT conduit openings and an internal terminal block. A rotatable display supports several mounting orientations.
Hazardous location approvals vary by model and configuration. Available certifications include cULus, ATEX and IECEx classifications. Configurations support explosion-proof, intrinsically safe and non-incendive installations.
Qualifying switch models also support IEC 61508 SIL applications. Users should confirm the required integrity level and model before ordering. The SIL certification excludes 1XTX transmitter models.
