2-Stack and 3-Stack Dock Base Options

The Federal Signal SLMB2 and SLMB3 are modular dock bases for multi-position signal assemblies. The SLMB2 supports a 2-stack dock light configuration. The SLMB3 supports a 3-stack dock light configuration. This gives facilities flexibility when building a clear signaling system. Teams can choose the number of positions based on the application. A 2-stack base works well for simple status indication. A 3-stack base supports more detailed signal communication.

Configurable With StreamLine® Audible and Visual Modules

The SLMB2 and SLMB3 work with compatible StreamLine® audible and visual modules. Compatible models include SLM100, SLM200, SLM300, SLM350, SLM500, SLM700, SLM1400, and SLM1450. These modules allow facilities to build a signal assembly around specific site needs. Teams can select visual signals, audible signals, or a combination of both. Visual and audible top modules are sold separately. This gives users more control over the final configuration. The dock base cannot be used with SLM600 or SLM800 modules.

One Function Per Position

Each dock base supports one function per position. This helps teams create clear and organized signal arrangements. Facilities can separate different alerts, operating states, or status indications. This layout helps workers understand each signal more quickly. It also supports clearer communication in busy environments. Operators, drivers, pedestrians, and maintenance teams can identify signal changes with less confusion.

Indoor and Outdoor Application Use

The StreamLine® Dock Light Base option supports indoor and outdoor applications. It works well in high foot traffic areas. Common locations include loading docks, parking garages, factories, and industrial facilities. These environments often involve people, vehicles, and equipment moving at the same time. A clear signal assembly can improve awareness in these active areas. It can also support safer and more efficient site communication.

Standard Surface Mounting With Included Visors

Each SLMB2 and SLMB3 dock base comes ready for surface mounting. Federal Signal includes visors with each base. These visors help direct visibility toward the intended viewing area. This can help in locations with changing light or movement. Facilities can use the standard surface mount for many common layouts. The included visors also support applications that need more directional indication.

Optional Mounting Accessories

Facilities can adapt these modular dock bases with optional mounting accessories. The SLMB23W wall mount supports wall-mounted installations. The SLMB23N 1/2″ NPT pipe mount supports pipe-mounted installations. These accessories are sold separately. They help teams position the signal assembly for better visibility. They also support installations where surface mounting may not suit the site layout.

Retaining Ring Option for Side Visibility

Teams can replace the included visors with StreamLine® top module retaining rings. This option can improve side visibility in some applications. Retaining rings may suit areas with multiple viewing angles. They can also help when signals need visibility from more than one direction. This gives facilities another way to tailor the assembly to the environment.
