Durag Group D-R 909 Wet Stack Particulate Monitor

The DURAG D-R 909 is an extractive wet stack particulate monitor designed for continuous measurement of dust in wet and sticky exhaust gases, including applications downstream of wet scrubbers, flue gas desulfurization (FGD) systems, and wet electrostatic precipitators (WESPs). Using a forward scattering measuring principle, the D-R 909 is built for conditions where flue gas falls below the dew point and conventional particulate monitoring becomes more difficult. DURAG positions the D-R 909 as a highly reliable PM CEMS monitor for regulatory and process monitoring applications.

The D-R 909 is designed to provide stable performance at very low particulate concentrations, with certified measuring ranges beginning at 0 … 7.5 mg/m³. DURAG also highlights the system’s compact, probe-mounted design, automatic self-check and purge-air cleaning, and heated sampling probe that evaporates water droplets directly in the probe. This approach helps simplify installation, reduce operating complexity, and avoid the high-temperature oven systems and heated sampling lines often associated with other wet stack monitors.

Available in Canada through Westech Industrial, the D-R 909 fits well within Westech’s emissions monitoring offering for customers requiring dependable particulate measurement in challenging wet flue gas environments. Westech supports industrial customers across Canada with emissions monitoring solutions, technical product support, and integrated system expertise.

PRODUCT FAQ's

What is the DURAG D-R 909 used for?
The DURAG D-R 909 is used for continuous particulate monitoring in wet stack applications where exhaust gas contains high moisture or sticky particulate. It is particularly suited for measurement downstream of wet scrubbers, FGD systems, and WESPs.
Why is the D-R 909 suited for wet flue gas applications?
The D-R 909 uses an extractive design with a heated sampling probe that evaporates water droplets directly in the probe, which helps support reliable particulate measurement in wet gas streams without relying on high-temperature oven systems and heated sampling lines
What makes the D-R 820 F suitable for wet flue gas applications?
Its design combines sample dilution, hyperkinetic gas extraction, and heating for moisture removal, which helps support stable measurement in wet gas streams where condensation and aerosols can affect other measurement approaches.
Is the D-R 909 suitable for regulatory emissions monitoring?
Yes. DURAG states that the D-R 909 is suitable for regulatory emissions monitoring and lists compliance or certification to standards such as US EPA 40 CFR 60 PS 11, EN 15267, EN 14181 (QAL1), and UL 61010-1 (cETLus)
What types of facilities can use the D-R 909?
DURAG identifies applications including coal- and oil-fired power plants with wet FGD, waste incineration plants with wet scrubbers, energy-from-waste and biomass boilers, pulp and paper recovery boilers, fertilizer plants, and other industrial processes using wet gas cleaning stages.
Can Westech help evaluate whether the D-R 909 is the right fit for a Canadian emissions monitoring application?
Yes. Westech Industrial supports customers across Canada with emissions monitoring solutions and technical product guidance, helping identify the right monitoring technology for the application and operating conditions.
