PFS F103 WP Weatherproof Flow Logger/Totalizer

The PFS F103 WP Weatherproof Flow Logger/Totalizer monitors liquid and gas flow in demanding outdoor environments. This versatile weatherproof flow totalizer suits new installations and field upgrades where reliability, visibility and simple operation matter.

The F103 WP simultaneously displays flow rate and total. It also tracks accumulated total, daily total and the last 15 previous daily totals. Therefore, operators can quickly review current flow conditions and recent operating history.

A Type 4 weatherproof enclosure protects the electronics from rain, snow, dust and sandy conditions. The unit operates from -40°F to 158°F (-40°C to 70°C). In addition, its CSA c-us Class I, Division 2 non-incendive certification supports hazardous-area installations across Canada and the United States.

The F103 WP also offers a practical replacement for MC-III WP flow analyzers. One-to-one wiring transfer and a selectable Modbus table help simplify compatible upgrade projects. Plug-in connectors and covered electronics further support efficient installation and maintenance.

Westech Industrial offers the PFS F103 WP across Canada. Our team can assist with application review, product selection, system integration and ongoing service requirements. Westech can also incorporate the flow logger into custom-fabricated panels, enclosures and packaged monitoring systems.

Description

Simultaneous Flow Rate and Total Display

The F103 WP presents essential flow information on one large, easy-to-read display. Operators can view flow rate and total simultaneously without switching between primary screens. The unit also displays accumulated total, daily total and the previous 15 daily totals.

The display includes seven 0.67-inch digits for total values. It also provides eleven 0.31-inch digits for flow rate and supporting information. Symbols and selectable engineering units help operators interpret the displayed values quickly.

Optional Flow Logging for Operational Review

The optional logging function helps operators evaluate daily performance and investigate unexpected operating events. It provides capacity for 600 daily logs, 1,500 configurable interval logs and 724 event logs.

Logged information can include flow rate, total at the contract hour, accumulated total, date, time and log number. Consequently, users can review operating patterns without adding a separate data logger for many applications.

Flexible Flow Input Compatibility

The F103 WP accepts several common flowmeter signal types. These include sine-wave coil signals, NPN and PNP pulse signals, reed switches and isolated active pulses.

The isolated active pulse input accepts 3–30 VDC signals at frequencies up to 7 kHz. Coil input sensitivity ranges from 20–80 mV peak-to-peak. This flexibility allows the flow totalizer to work with many turbine meters and pulse-producing flow devices.

Fifteen-Point Flow Linearization

Fifteen configurable linearization points help improve measurement performance across the full flow range. This capability allows the F103 WP to compensate for changes in a meter’s K-factor at different flow rates.

Users can configure the K-factor for volumetric or mass-flow applications. As a result, the same weatherproof flow totalizer can support a wide range of liquids, gases and engineering units.

Multiple Output and Communication Options

The F103 WP offers scaled, isolated scaled and unscaled digital outputs. The standard scaled pulse output supports frequencies up to 500 Hz. An isolated solid-state scaled output supports frequencies up to 50 Hz.

A galvanically isolated, loop-powered 4–20 mA output provides an analog signal for remote monitoring or control. Modbus RS485 communication also supports integration with compatible control, monitoring and data-acquisition systems.

Simple Programming and PC Configuration

The intuitive configuration menu follows a consistent “Know one, know them all” operating structure. This approach helps reduce setup time for users familiar with other products in the same series.

Operators can configure the unit through the front keypad. Free downloadable configuration software also supports setup through a PC. The F103 WP automatically backs up configuration settings and running totals, which protects important operating information.

Flexible Power for Field Installations

The F103 WP supports several power arrangements. Options include a long-life lithium battery, 6–30 VDC external power and an isolated loop-powered 4–20 mA configuration.

These choices support remote sites, stand-alone metering points and integrated control systems. Therefore, users can select a power method that matches the installation’s infrastructure and communication requirements.

Built for Harsh Outdoor Conditions

The standard glass-reinforced polymer enclosure provides Type 4 weatherproof protection. It withstands rain, snow, dust, sandy environments and wide temperature changes.

Optional aluminum and stainless-steel enclosures support applications with additional mechanical or environmental requirements. An optional backlight can also improve display visibility in low-light locations.

Hazardous-Area Capability

The F103 WP carries CSA c-us Class I, Division 2, Groups A–D, T5 non-incendive certification. This rating supports qualifying liquid and gas flow applications in classified industrial locations.

The rugged enclosure, protected electronics and plug-in connectors also help simplify field installation. Together, these features make the unit well suited to exposed oilfield and industrial monitoring locations.

Applications

The PFS F103 WP supports liquid and gas flow measurement where operators require local indication, totalization, outputs or operational logging.

  • Water and chemical flow monitoring at oil wells
  • Liquid and gas flow measurement in Class I, Division 2 locations
  • Outdoor flow monitoring in rain, snow or dusty conditions
  • Flow logging at remote or unattended sites
  • Monitoring in hot, sandy desert environments
  • Turbine flowmeter indication and totalization
  • Daily production and consumption tracking
  • MC-III WP flow analyzer replacement projects
  • New flowmeter installations and control-system upgrades
  • Applications requiring Modbus RS485 or 4–20 mA integration
