Penberthy RM TM Direct Reading Liquid Level Gauges

Penberthy Models RM and TM Direct Reading Liquid Level Gauges provide reliable visual level indication for medium-pressure tank applications. These flat glass gauges help operators confirm liquid level directly at the vessel. They also support visual verification of other level technologies.

Penberthy level gauges are available in reflex and transparent styles. RM reflex gauges use a single vision slot and glass prisms to show the liquid level interface. TM transparent gauges use vision slots on both sides of the chamber. As a result, operators can view liquid level and inspect liquid characteristics.

These gauges suit petroleum, chemical, natural gas, and general process applications. They operate without electrical power, so they support remote locations and backup level indication needs. In addition, operation does not depend on density, surface turbulence, dielectric conductivity, or most other liquid characteristics.

Westech Industrial supplies Penberthy RM and TM gauges for Canadian industrial applications. Our team can help customers review gauge style, materials, connection requirements, accessories, and service conditions. Westech also offers service capabilities and custom fabrication support for projects that require integrated level indication, process skids, shelters, panels, or winterized assemblies.

Description

Direct Visual Level Measurement

Penberthy level gauges give operators a clear, direct reference for liquid level. Instead of relying only on electronic signals, teams can visually confirm the level inside the gauge chamber. This helps with daily checks, commissioning, troubleshooting, and verification of other level instruments. Since the gauge reads directly from the process connection, it gives a simple visual reference at the equipment.

Reflex and Transparent Gauge Styles

RM reflex gauges use a single vision slot and glass prisms to highlight the liquid level interface. Above the liquid, the glass typically appears silvery because it reflects surrounding light. Below the liquid level, the glass appears darker as the liquid fills the prisms. This contrast helps operators identify the liquid and gas interface.

TM transparent gauges use vision slots on both sides of the chamber. Light enters from the opposite side, which allows operators to see the liquid level and the liquid condition. This style helps when teams need to inspect colour, clarity, or interface conditions. TM gauges can also support interface applications.

Independent of Most Liquid Characteristics

Penberthy RM and TM direct reading level gauges do not rely on electrical power. They also do not depend on density, turbulence, dielectric conductivity, or similar liquid properties. Therefore, facilities can process different liquids through the same vessel without changing the basic visual level method. This makes Penberthy level gauges useful in plants with changing process conditions or varied media.

Medium-Pressure Process Capability

The RM and TM series support medium-pressure tank applications across process industries. RM gauges offer maximum pressure ratings up to 3000 psig for glass size 1 and 2250 psig for glass size 9. TM gauges offer maximum pressure ratings up to 2500 psig for glass size 1 and 1000 psig for glass size 9. Ratings vary by glass size, temperature, gasket materials, bolting, and selected construction.

Configurable Materials and Connections

Penberthy RM and TM gauges offer several material and connection options. Standard construction includes carbon steel, low-temperature carbon steel, or stainless steel cover and chamber options. NACE materials are also available for sour gas service. Customers can select end or side connections, including threaded, socketweld, and flanged options. In addition, recessed gasket chamber models are available as RMR and TMR styles.

Accessories for Challenging Conditions

Available accessories help adapt the gauge to specific site conditions. Gaugecocks isolate the gauge chamber from vessel contents during service. Frost-proof extensions help reduce frost buildup in low-temperature applications. Gauge scales provide a graduated readout in standard units. Illuminators can improve observation on transparent gauges when ambient light is limited. External or internal heating and cooling chambers can also help manage process temperature needs.
