KEMTRAK DCP007-NIR Industrial Photometer
The Kemtrak DCP007-NIR is an advanced dual-wavelength near-infrared (NIR) photometer designed for accurate, real-time, in-line concentration measurements in demanding process environments. Using NIR absorbance in the 850–2000 nm range, it provides stable, repeatable data on both liquids and gases so you can control your process with confidence.
Typical measurements include:
- Moisture content (water and trace water)
- Ethanol and methanol
- Sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and other chemicals
- Ammonia
- Continuous fuel and product identification
With robust industrial fibre optics, maintenance-free measurement cells, and a long-life NIR LED light source, the DCP007-NIR delivers precision measurement with minimal intervention.

Measurement Cell & Installation
The DCP007-NIR is paired with rugged in-line measurement cells, such as a ½” / DN10 Tri-Clamp cell with a 1.5 mm optical path length, equipped with sapphire windows.
Key attributes:
- Maintenance-free design with no moving parts
- No electronics in contact with the process
- Suitable for installation in hazardous areas
- Industrial-grade fibre optics and 316L stainless-steel construction
- Measurement cells and fibre assemblies rated up to 250°C (482°F)
How It Works
The Kemtrak DCP007-NIR photometer uses a dual-wavelength approach:
- Primary (absorbing) wavelength – selected to match the NIR absorption of the target component (e.g., water, ethanol).
- Reference (non-absorbing) wavelength – used to correct for turbidity, air bubbles, and window fouling.
A precisely focused monochromatic NIR light beam is transmitted through the process medium via fibre optics and collected at a detector. The reduction in light intensity corresponds to the concentration of the absorbing species, following the Beer-Lambert law. By combining the absorbing and reference signals, the DCP007-NIR provides a highly stable measurement that is largely unaffected by common process disturbances.
This makes the analyzer particularly well-suited for:
- Long-term, unattended operation
- Processes where manual sampling is difficult or risky
- Applications that require reliable trend information and tight process control
Typical Applications
- Bioprocessing and biopharma
- Chemical and petrochemical production
- Solvent blending and recovery
- Caustic and chemical concentration monitoring
- Moisture / trace water detection in liquids or gases
- Fuel and product identification in pipelines or storage
