Since 1975 the Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA) has been instrumental in influencing change and instilling a culture of safety throughout Alberta. Westech is certified by ACSA and actively enforces the standards set forth and participates in the worker and leadership training provided by ACSA.
Our COR shows that Westech's health and safety management system has been evaluated by a certified auditor and meets Alberta provincial standards. These standards are established by Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and are in effect at our Alberta Facilities.
In keeping with our commitment to delivering industry leading products, Westech Burlington location has a quality management system that is registered to ISO 9001.
Westech is proud to have been certified by the National Board of Boilers and Pressure Vessel Inspectors. All repairs are performed in accordance with the requirements of the National Board.

FIRST AID / CPR
WESTECH employees are trained and able to recognize and provide intervention for life-threatening emergencies until medical aid arrives. WESTECH is Standard First Aid compliant and focused on addressing adult casualties.

► One and two rescuer CPR for an adult casualty
► Automatic external defibrillation (AED) training
WESTECH personnel are comprehensively trained in Fall Arrest Protection course-work. Focusing on the daily needs of the end user (the employee) for safe work practices in regards to Fall Arrest Protection.
The training includes information about the different types of Fall Protection, what personal protective equipment to use, emergency procedures and how to calculate Fall Clearances.
H2S AWARENESS / H2S ALIVE
WESTECH associates have attended H2S Alive - A one-day course that is intended for all workers in the petroleum industry who could be exposed to hydrogen sulphide (H2S).
The primary focus is to provide generic H2S course content to help workers work safely in and around H2S environments. The certification covers the physical properties and health hazards of H2S, how to protect oneself and basic rescue techniques.
WESTECH associates are trained to operate a self-contained breathing apparatus and a detector tube device, and to perform CPR and rescue lift and drag exercises.
