The Kemtrak TC007 is a high-resolution NIR backscatter photometer designed for accurate measurement of high-concentration suspended solids. Where traditional turbidity-based instruments lose resolution and effectively stop working at around 1% suspended solids, the TC007 continues to perform – delivering reliable measurements from 5 NTU up to 100% suspended solids.
By giving operators real-time visibility across the full concentration range, the TC007 enables tighter process control, improved product consistency, and the opportunity for meaningful cost savings.

How It Works
The Kemtrak TC007 uses a robust fibre optic backscatter probe designed for demanding process environments and CIP regimes. The probe contains no electronics or serviceable parts at the measurement point, improving reliability and making it suitable for hygienic and hazardous area installations.
The system consists of two main components:
- Photometer Unit
- Houses the NIR light source, detectors, and all electronics.
- Processes the return signal and outputs a concentration value in the desired engineering units.
- Measurement Probe
- Industrial fibre optic backscatter probe installed directly in the process stream or vessel.
- Transmits NIR light into the process and collects the backscattered light returning from suspended particles.
Backscattered light intensity is correlated with the concentration of suspended solids. By using NIR wavelengths and a proprietary measurement technique, the TC007 maintains sensitivity across a very wide concentration range, from low turbidity through to fully concentrated suspensions.
